Vision statements and visualization do involve creativity but taps into our left brain, which is analytical and logical. It’s the part of the brain that helps us write our to-do list or plan our budget.
Visioning flows is an exercise in tapping into the subconscious brain. It is a spiritual practice that allows us to tap into our inner wisdom, to that still small voice of the God within. It’s a meditative process, one that the Centers for Spiritual Living has developed into an expansive practice.
Next Sunday after the service, Rev. Alice will lead Play Shop participants in a Visioning – with a capital “V”. The process begins with a meditation that will relax and open us up to receive wisdom. Once we are in that place of receptivity, Rev. Alice will ask a simple question. As our inner wisdom answers, you are encouraged to jot a few notes. This process repeats a few more times, until the Visioning is complete. You may receive words, hear sounds or see pictures. They may make sense, or what you receive may seem unrelated to the question. WHATEVER you see, hear, or feel is important. Our main practice is to capture whatever comes forward.
