Being mindful throughout your day means being present to every moment.  It’s being present as you sip your morning coffee.  It’s being present as you read your book.  It’s being present at your work meeting even if you don’t want to be there.  It’s being present to your kids as they tell you about a topic that doesn’t interest you, like Spongebob Squarepant’s antics for the day!

Mindfulness is honoring every single moment in your life.  As cliche as it sounds, right now is the only moment we have.  It’s where we find happiness, joy, love, and abundance.

Honor this moment now.  Don’t skim these words; Read them as if they hold the key to your best life, because they do.

Being mindful to your present moment is the key to living your best life.

Today’s Spiritual Principle:  Mindfulness

Quote:

“With mindfulness, you can establish yourself in the present in order to touch the wonders of life that are available in that moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Affirmation:

Today, I give of myself fully to any experience, conversation, or thought that I encounter.  I simply allow myself full presence to every moment.

Practice:

Drink a cup of coffee, tea, or juice (whatever you normally drink).  Sit quietly as you drink it.  Taste each sip.  Can you taste the essence of that sip?  Can you recognize any of the ingredients that make up the tea or juice?  Can you feel it moving from your mouth, to your throat and into your stomach?  What is the difference between mindfully sipping your beverage as opposed to drinking it on the go?
