What We Believe
By Ernest Holmes, 1927.
We believe in God, the living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause. This One manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
We believe in the individualization of the Spirit in Us, and that all people are individualizations of the One Spirit.
We believe in the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
We believe that heaven is within us, and that we experience it to the degree that we become conscious of it.
We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete freedom from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence.
We believe in the direct revelation of truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that anyone may become a revealer of truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.
We believe that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.
We believe in the healing of the sick through the power of this Mind.
We believe in the control of conditions through the power of this Mind.
We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness, and the eternal Givingness of Life to all.
We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny; for we understand that the life of all is God.
The Center Sunday Services
Wherever you are on your spiritual path, you are welcome at the Center on Sunday morning. At the end of the Meditation Service a candle lighting ceremony honors all the major spiritual traditions of the world and, most importantly, the individual’s unique path.
The Sunday morning service offers live music featuring weekly musical guest artists, and an inspirational talk ‘just for you’ to provide personal insight for greater growth and expression. Monthly themes include authenticity, connection, finding balance, practice, self-worth, and abundance.
The Center’s inspiring services begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and are preceded by a 15-minute guided meditation at 10 a.m.
Sunday Youth Program
While adults enjoy an uplifting service in the sanctuary, children have their own experience. The youth center is guided and managed trained volunteers, provides age-appropriate lessons, inspiration, activities and connection for children, birth to 18 years old.
Sunday morning at our center is designed for all ages. We welcome your children into the youth playroom in time for the 10 a.m. meditation in the sanctuary. 10:00 – 10:30 is supervised creative play time with self directed crafts, games and friends.
Lastly, our In-Flight teen group, for youth ages 13 to 18, meets each Sunday at 10 a.m. Twice a year, our teen group unites with about 300 other Center for Spiritual Living teens from all over the country for winter and summer camp, a life-transforming and enriching experience.
To provide spiritual insight and inspiration online and throughout the week, the Center’s blog features messages, videos and quotes from our ministers and other New Thought luminaries. See what’s happening on the Center’s blog.
The Parent Forum is offered the second Wednesday of every month. This discussion group offers friendships, enlightening topics and spiritual tools for parents looking to interact with their kids in a more spiritually centered way. The Parent Forum is free to attend but space is limited. A light lunch and childcare are provided. The Forum is on hiatus and will resume soon.
Kids Day Out
On Tuesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Center’s co-op playgroup, Kids Day Out, offers children, ages 2 to 4, a chance to learn and socialize with other children, experiment with sharing, and, of course learn the most important skill, play through imagination, creativity and spontaneity. The playgroup provides parents, when not volunteering program, a three-hour block of time to be at home alone or go to the market, mall or the beach by yourself! Friendships are made and deepened for the children and adults. Kids Day Out is on hiatus, and will resume soon.
The Jewel Tones Choir
For music lovers and singers, the Center offers the Jewel Tone Choir, created to provide beautiful music with New Thought inspiration during the Sunday service on the third Sunday of each month. Practice is typically Thursday 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
