“I’ve taken several beginning photography classes over the years, and it’s only after taking the Emerging Photographer workshop with Juli Isola that I feel confident enough to use my DSLR in manual mode. Juli is an exceptional photography teacher. She combines interactive lecture with in-class, hands-on practice, making sure each student understood every point. What helped me most was having daily assignments and Juli’s immediate feedback.” ~ Pam Rocke, Emerging Photographer workshop participant

This class is offered in partnership with the Center for Spiritual Living Capistrano Valley.

From Juli:

We’ve all heard people say, “You take beautiful photographs. You must have a really expensive camera.” And, yes, I do, but, the camera doesn’t make my art. It’s my knowledge, experiences, practice, heart and soul that make the photographs I produce. The camera is simply the tool I use. Just like the stove I use to cook dinner.
If you think about it, the camera that Ansel Adams used to create his great works of art, pale in comparison to today’s technology and yet, his images are timeless.

So, are you ready to become a photographer?? That’s what my Emerging Photographer workshops are all about, teaching you how to use your camera, read light and understand composition so YOU can make better images with almost any type of camera.

  • Learn manual exposure in natural light
  • Learn how to read and use natural light
  • Learn composition to strengthen your images
