The journey of The Commitment Experiment has begun at Center for Spiritual Living, Capistrano Valley.  During the month of October the congregation, and everyone who visits, are invited to experience what life is like when we discover how we are here on purpose.

At one point in the experiment we divided into small groups.  In the small group, the thought process of “God Willing” was mentioned.  This lead to a sharing of us as “co-creators” in life.

If we live our lives with the thought of God being somewhere “out there,” we may tend to believe that the directions of our lives are at the Will of God.  We may think we have no part in the Divine Plan and that luck is coincidental.

In the idea of us being “co-creators” of our lives, we take a responsibility for the direction our life takes.  Remember, it’s not a solo ride.  As “co-creators,” we, as humans, are here on this earth to unfold, all the while deepening our Knowingness of our connection in Spirit.

About two weeks ago I heard Safe and Sound by Capital Cities.  Though I’ve heard this song many times before, something really resonated with me this time.  As I listened to the lyrics, it was as if a conversation in God was being sung.

A conversation in God, as opposed to a conversation with God. This is not about a dualistic conversation, instead a conversation in Self.  Imagine this as an illustration of the Knowing of God and our part in the process.

I could lift you up
I could show you what you want to see
And take you where you want to be
 You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we’ll be safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
I could fill your cup
You know my river won’t evaporate
 This world we still appreciate
 You could be my luck
Even in a hurricane of frowns
I know that we’ll be safe and sound
(Safe and sound)
 We’re safe and sound
 (Safe and sound)
 We’re safe and sound
 (Hold your ground)
 We’re safe and sound
 (Safe and sound)
I could show you love
In a tidal wave of mystery
You’ll still be standing next to me
 You could be my luck
Even if we’re six feet underground
I know that we’ll be safe and sound
 We’re safe and sound

As we are lifted up in the Knowingness of God, we see what we see and go where we go. WE become the “luck” because all we see is the Goodness of God.  Aren’t we “lucky” to know this Truth?

When we continually practice seeing the Goodness of God, we begin to see our lives in a new Light.  We see things as they really are, and start to think of ourselves as “lucky”  because of all the goodness we see.  In reality WE are the “Luck”.  We are in this space at the right time, at the exact moment that we are meant to be.

When we are completely aligned life shows up as “lucky.”  It’s no coincidence; the work has been done to set this path in motion.  And everything works for us, nothing against us.  And even if things “appear” to be falling down, we know that we are safe and sound in God.

Hold your ground
We’re Safe and Sound

Aren’t WE the lucky ones.
