Rocks on beach

We cannot have a vision and simply go through our day waiting for it to appear.  There is daily action, and part of that action is daily spiritual practice.  Spiritual practice is the time of your day to get centered, get quiet and remember your connection with spirit.  Your commitment to daily spiritual practice is the “fuel” to your ultimate vision.

Spiritual practices include meditation, affirmative prayer (more information coming tomorrow), journaling, reading a spiritually-relevant book, etc.

Choose the one or two that work for you, however, in the Science of Mind philosophy, Affirmative Prayer is one that is always in our daily practices.  Giving thanks for your highest and best good already being in your physical reality is the essential key to manifesting your vision.

Today’s Spiritual Principle:  Spiritual Practice

Quote:

“If you don’t have a spiritual practice in place when times are good, you can’t expect to suddenly develop one during a moment of crisis.” Douglas Coupland

Affirmation:

I find time, everyday, for my spiritual practices. I commit to my own spiritual growth, therefore, I easily carve out the time in my schedule dedicated to my practices.

Practice:

Choose two spiritual practices you will commit to everyday.  If you are new to spiritual practices, start with 15 minutes a day.  Maybe meditate for 5 minutes, journal for 5 minutes and say an affirmative prayer.  Grab the Science of Mind textbook at the Center’s Bookstore and read from it for 10 minutes a day or do one of the meditations starting on page 507.  Choose the practices that you enjoy, making commitment a little easier.  Little by little, add on to the time until you arrive at the perfect daily practice for you.
