The affiliation, cooperation and teamwork that brings a musical work to life can change your life. Observing how quickly skills and talents improve is a pleasant surprise. Come out in the fall and join these exciting singers who bring so much joy to Sunday morning services.

On Thursday evenings, we prepare beautiful music to add inspiration to our services. We sing for Center services once a month and for special occasions such as Christmas Eve and Easter. We also have tons of fun doing it!

If you enjoy singing and would like to be a part of the wonderful energy of the Celebration Choir, come join us. You'll find you belong to a very special family.

Celebration Choir Practice

Choir practice is on Thursdays, 7 - 9 p.m. Rehearsals are always held in the sanctuary, and all are welcome to participate.

Jean Turrell-Wright, Choral Director

Jean Turrell Wright

Jean Turrell-Wright, recently retired vocal/choral instructor from the Irvine Unified School District, has been directing choral music and singing professionally for over 40 years.

A graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara with a Masters Degree from Stanford University, Jean has most recently sung with the Pacific Chorale and the Orange County Women's Chorus. Currently she is singing with the Orange County Chapter of the Threshold Choir which sings at the bedsides of those who are ill, in transition or struggling with life. Jean has her own voice studio specializing in both classical and popular music.

Jean is an experienced musical director. She has worked with over 20 musical theatre productions. One highlight from her early years was appearing in an episode of the TV series "MASH" as one of a girls trio called The Miller Sisters. "I still have people come up to me and say they saw my MASH episode."

Daughter Erica Turrell is also a music teacher and singer, and son Rob Turrell is in sales and plays guitar with his own band. Husband Bill Wright is a scheduler and analyst in the aerospace industry.

Jean goes on to describe her life and family:

"My 3 year old grandson Teddy already sings and dances and loves to play his drums. "I have practiced Religious Science for over thirty years. Its teachings have truly seen me through many, many life changes.

I am thrilled to be returning to CSLCV where I began my class work and where I helped with music by playing piano and directing the choir during the early 80s. It feels like coming home in so many ways.

The excitement and commitment of your singers and members is palpable and I am truly "ready to rock" as some might say. Forming a children's choir is also one of my goals.

Music has always been my ministry. Other churches where I have served include the Center for Spiritual Discovery in Costa Mesa, the Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science, the Center for Spiritual Renewal in Garden Grove, and the Cape Coral, Florida Church of Religious Science. I know that as the Celebration Choir continues to create beautiful, inspiring music, we will be honoring the divine uniqueness of each one of us and those we touch."
